The houses on the main part of Tinkers Bridge are all similar timber framed construction, and similar units are also present in Bradwell and in Simpson. This section of the web site attempts to document the details, to be a resource for any information needed on these buildings.
Subsidised external thermal insulation was available at £1.00/house in 2012, and most private houses took up the offer. It is a 90mm Premium EPS Insulation with a Silicone Texture finish, made by Wetherby Building Systems, and installed by Cornerstone (East Anglia) Limited. John Orr and Ron Ellis were involved in the pilot installation, which included taking thermal measurements.
The system is guaranteed against material failure for 10 years
The internal doors are not UK standard sizes.
Because of the timber frame construction, there are some firms who will not offer mortgages or insurance. This information can easily get out of date, but is offered here in good faith.
